Processing All the Information
The Central Processing Unit or CPU for short is a chip which is put on the motherboard in its special area and has many functions which it is capable of performing, many of which are necessary when using a computer for many different purposes. The CPU is responsible for carrying out instructions which are used for basic arithmetic, logical, control and input/output operations specified by instructions which are given by the user. The CPU is basically the logic processor of the computer and is used for all logic based work within the computer. The speed of a CPU is measured in Gigahertz (GHz) and can have multiple cores. The higher the GHz of the processor, the faster the CPU is and likewise with the number of cores, the more cores there are, the faster the CPU is.
